Portfolio: Flora and Fauna
In this eclectic collection, each piece is a testament to the profound beauty of the natural world, with some works depicting beloved locations and others the intricate details of early natural history studies. My landscapes honor the places imprinted on the memories of my family —those that have inspired awe, provided solace, or ignited a sense of adventure. Whether they are vast, untamed wildernesses or tranquil, intimate corners of nature, these works seek to transcend mere representation and instead convey the atmosphere, mood, and spirit of these places. In parallel, my early studies of natural history collections provided a structured yet poignant lens through which to examine the wonders of flora and fauna. Meticulous observation and documentation of these specimens informed my understanding of biological taxonomies and eventually led to my MFA thesis project: “Still Life and Death at Harvard.”
